Leonid Tambiev, the newly appointed head coach of Moscow’s Dynamo, has stated that he has not been tasked with winning the Gagarin Cup in the 2026/27 season. Dynamo exited the playoffs in the first round last season, losing 0-4 to Minsk Dynamo.
“Our goal for the season is to build a team with character and fighting spirit, one that fans will enjoy watching. I have not been given the objective of winning the Gagarin Cup right now. Of course, everyone wants to become champions. We will take it step by step.
I understand the Dynamo spirit, the champion’s spirit. Working for Dynamo is a challenge and a great opportunity to collaborate with strong players. Deep down, I will motivate the players to strive for victory and the path to the Gagarin Cup. But I won’t make loud statements right now; I will be cautious about that. I know it won’t be easy for me, but in the KHL, nothing comes easy for anyone,” Tambiev said.
