Female tennis players from the Ninth and Tenth Regions have secured their spots in the Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) state championship, the annual culmination of a competitive season. The qualifiers were determined through regional tournaments held earlier this month, where top-performing girls earned the right to compete at the state level.
Several high schools in the Cincinnati area and Northern Kentucky will be represented. Athletes from schools such as Notre Dame Academy, St. Henry District, and others in the Ninth Region, as well as representatives from the Tenth Region, will take to the courts in Lexington for the state tournament. Players advanced based on their finishes in singles and doubles draws during the regional competition.
The state championship, which will feature both team and individual events, is expected to draw strong competition. Coaches have praised the depth of talent this year, noting that several qualifiers have shown consistent improvement throughout the spring season. The KHSAA will release the full bracket and schedule in the coming days, with matches scheduled to begin at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Center.
