The teams competing in the Champions League semifinals have a double reward awaiting them in this round. Clubs have been steadily increasing their earnings through UEFA’s performance-based prize money. Teams that reached the round of 16 received €11 million. Advancing to the quarterfinals paid €12.5 million, and making it to the semifinals has already provided €15 million each to Atlético Madrid, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, and Arsenal.
The two clubs that reach the final of the revamped Champions League will each take home €18.5 million. These are generous sums that add extra motivation. Winning the final also comes with a significant bonus: €25 million for lifting the coveted trophy under the Budapest sky.
